Patients Ability At A Glance - Interactive

The Patients Ability in MacPractice is an information hub that displays all of the demographic, insurance, clinical and ledger data in a user friendly format. All of the information and function you need right at your fingertips. Below you will find MacPractice as an interactive site click on the field in question to learn more.

Primary Secondary Tab

  • Name - The primary or secondary name will be stored in this area of the demographics. 
  • Address and Suite - This where the address information will be placed for the guarantors. 
  • City, State and Zip Code - The city state and zip code will be placed here shortcuts can be made to help enter this information into the chart. 
  • Country - This is where the country should be recorded for international clients. 
  • Email - This will hold the email address for the primary or secondary guarantor. 
  • Phone Numbers - This is where the phone numbers will be stored for the guarantors. This can be changed to international if needed. 
  • Birthdate - The birthdate field will auto format to the birthday. 
  • Social Security - This will show the social security number if collected. It can also be set to an international field. 
  • Sex - The gender of the guarantor will be placed here. 
  • Employers - This section of the Primary or Secondary tab allows offices to record the person's employment information.
  • Insurance - This section of the Primary or Secondary tab allows users to record information regarding the insurance this person subscribes to.

Account Tab

Patient Tab

  • Name - The primary or secondary name will be stored in this area of the demographics.
  • Address and Suite - This where the address information will be placed for the guarantors.

  • Country - This is where the country should be recorded for international clients.
  • Email - This will hold the email address for the primary or secondary guarantor.
  • Phone Numbers - This is where the phone numbers will be stored for the guarantors. This can be changed to international if needed.
  • Birthdate - The birthdate field will auto format to the birthday.
  • Social Security - This will show the social security number if collected. It can also be set to an international field.
  • Chart # - Existing chart numbers can be placed in this field for reference.
  • Bridge Number - Bridge numbers are set to communicate with external software with patient information.
  • Marital Status - This information is needed for claims and insurance companies.
  • Employment - Employment will show the patient's employment status on the chart.
  • Preferred Language - The patient's preferred language will be placed here. This list can be changed in the references.
  • New Patient Date - This date will automatically fill when the patient is entered into MacPractice.
  • Relationship to Primary and Secondary - This information is needed for the purpose of claims. 
  • Sex - Most insurance companies will require the sex of the patient.
  • Provider and Office - Set the patients default provider and office here.
  • Fee Schedule - Assign a list of fees to the patient's chart.
  • HIE Consent - Check this box to mark that the patient has given consent.
  • Recall & Follow-Ups - If there are Recalls/Follow-Ups tied to the patient, they will appear here.
  • Insurance - This will show the insurance that is available for the patients account. Details on the remaining benefits will show in this window.
  • Referrals - The intent of the Referrals tab is to document unique transitions including the individuals or entities (Referrers) involved.
  • Custom - The Custom Tab creates references for tracking any desired subject. The Custom filter for Reports sorts by this information.
  • Alerts - Alerts pertaining to the patient are entered here.
  • Appointments - This section will show the user all the appointments for the patient; past, present and future.
  • Notes - The Notes tab is a free-text area where miscellaneous notes about the patient can be entered.
  • Emergency - The Emergency tab is used to enter information about the patient's emergency contacts.
  • Communication - The Communication tab records notes on patient communications, such as email, text, or voice messages.
  • Race/Ethnicity - This tab records additional demographic information about the patient.
  • Portal Access - This tab records any Portal Users who have access to this patient’s Portal information.
  • School/CDA - The final tab in this area will be labeled as School, CDA, or there will be no tab. The School tab will appear if Dental eClaims are used. If Use Canadian Claim Fields is checked in Preferences > Localization, it will be labeled CDA. If Dental eClaims are not used and this Preference is not checked, this tab will not be present.

Clinical Tab

  • Filters - The Incident drop down sorts the Clinical Summary for the patient by specific Ledger Incidents. The History, Start Date and End Date fields allow sorting the Clinical Summary by a specific date. Export Incident allows clinical information to be sent to a patient’s Portal.
  • Clinical History - This will show the clinical history of the patient. Click on a link to be taken to the corresponding ability within MacPractice.
  • Problem List - The Problem list is a record of all diagnoses for a patient.
  • Allergy - This tab contains the history of allergies for the patient.
  • Immunizations - The Immunizations tab records a patient's Immunization information within a table.
  • Vitals - The patient’s Vitals are all recorded in this tab.
  • Smoking - This tab tracks a patient's smoking status.
  • Patient Education - This tab tracks educational information that has been given to a patient.
  • Preventive Care - This tab is used to help track routine preventive procedures that were performed at a different practice.
  • Goals - This tab displays the patient's clinical goals and instructions.
  • Care Team - The Care Team tab displays members of a patient's care team.
  • Family History - The patient’s Family History can be recorded here.
