Rx - Preferences and Prescription Forms

Two MacPractice Preferences should be configured before using the Rx Ability: the medication coding database and the default prescription form.

Within the Coding Preference, set the desired Medications database from which to pull medications. Offices with the ePrescribe ability should set this to the FDB (First Data Bank) database, while offices without ePrescribe can use either the RxNorm or Custom databases.

Within the Forms Preference, set the default Prescription Form to use when printing a prescription. This form will be selected in the Form menu of prescriptions by default, but any enabled prescription form can be selected on the fly.

Additional prescription forms can be enabled in References > Forms. For example, the form Prescription [4 per sheet] can be used to print multiple prescriptions on one page.
