Orders - Labs

The Laboratory order type is used to create and manage lab requisitions and receive lab results from selected laboratories.

Configuring lab requisition in MacPractice involves setting user privileges and configuring shared folders for sending and receiving results. Laboratory orders are then created and managed in the Orders ability. Contact the MacPractice Corporate Sales team for information on purchasing the Labs ability.

When a lab sends their results back to an office, MacPractice will import them and place the results under the Orders tab of the Patients ability. The lab results will also appear as a number on the left side of the Orders tab in blue with the number of those available.

Setting the Filter by Type to Laboratory will display only the laboratory results. Under Filter By Status select Results Available - this filter shows new lab results until a different status is assigned.
