Clinical Quality Measures Report - Initiation and Engagement of Alcohol and Other Drug Dependence Treatment

Overview
Percentage of patients 13 years of age and older with a new episode of alcohol and other drug (AOD) dependence who received the following. Two rates are reported- a) Percentage of patients who initiated treatment within 14 days of the diagnosis. b) Percentage of patients who initiated treatment and who had two or more additional services with an AOD diagnosis within 30 days of the initiation visit.

A patient will be in both denominators when they have all of the following- 

  • An age 13+ years old
  • A visit during your reporting period 
  • An Alcohol and Drug Dependence diagnosis with an Onset Date matching the visit's Procedure Date

A patient will be in the first numerator when they have all of the following- 

  • An Alcohol and Drug Dependence Treatment snomed code entered in their EMR or EHR form with a Start Date and End Date within 14 days of the Onset Date of their Alcohol and Drug Dependence diagnosis

A patient will be in the second numerator when they have all of the following- 

  • An Alcohol and Drug Dependence Treatment snomed code entered in their EMR or EHR form with a Start Date and End Date within 14 days of the Onset Date of their Alcohol and Drug Dependence diagnosis
  • At least two more Alcohol and Drug Dependence Treatment snomed codes with Start Dates and End Dates within 30 days of their first Alcohol and Drug Dependence Treatment

Stratifications

  • Stratum 1 is calculated in the same manner for patients 13-18 years old
  • Stratum 2 is calculated in the same manner for patients 18+ years old
