Clinical Quality Measures Report - Diabetic Retinopathy: Documentation of Presence or Absence of Macular Edema and Level of Severity of Retinopathy

Overview
Percentage of patients aged 18 years and older with a diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy who had a dilated macular or fundus exam performed which included documentation of the level of severity of retinopathy and the presence or absence of macular edema during one or more office visits within 12 months

A patient will be in the denominator when they have all of the following- 

  • An age of 18+ years old
  • A visit during your reporting period 
  • A Diabetic Retinopathy diagnosis with an Onset Date matching the visit's Procedure Date

A patient will be in the numerator when they have all of the following- 

  • A Macular Exam LNC code added to a Laboratory Order as the test and the result, with a Value on the Result and a Received Date matching the visit's Procedure Date
  • A Level of Severity of Retinopathy Findings snomed code entered as an additional Result on the Macular Exam LNC code (by using the Blank option when searching to add a result)
  • A Macular Edema Findings Present or Macular Edema Findings Absent snomed entered as an additional result on the Macular Exam LNC code (by using the Blank option when searching to add a result)
